Technically, yes. I don't think Abby's story by herself as you want to introduce would be a compelling story, it's been done a million times. Most recent example I can think of is Star Wars Battlefront 2. Maybe it would be nice as DLC but what made Abby's story moderately interesting is that she killed Joel.
